More Pictures From Tanner's Birthday

We finally got the pictures developed from the little point and shoot camera Spencer bought at the hospital gift store when Tanner was born. Enjoy and sorry for the poor picture quality.

That little weight says 6 lbs 12.5 oz. They decided to round it up to 6 lbs 13 oz. He was 20 inches long. Only an inch longer than Aine.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween Everyone! We hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween. Aine was a fairy this year. Rachael made her adorable tutu. When we put it on Aine for the first time she spinned around and around. She loved her costume. She went trick-or-treating for the first time this year up in Farmington. Following the lead of her cousin, Ellie, she wasn't too scared to visit each door. She just couldn't figure out how to put the candy in her sack, she wanted to hang on to it. Oh well, maybe she'll have a better hang of it next year and she can show Tanner the ropes.

We finally have a porch to display a pumpkin this year! Yeah! So, for family night this week we tried carving a pumpkin for the first time. He lost one of his teeth in the process. Oops!

Meeting Baby Brother Tanner

These pictures were taken right after Tanner and I got home from the hospital. You can see the excitement in Aine's face. She couldn't stop talking about Tanner and wanted to keep touching him. She wanted to name all of his different body parts. She would look up at me while pointing and saying "Eye". And she couldn't stop saying "Baby". She seemed to understand what was happening a lot more than I had given her credit for. After seeing baby Tanner she started rubbing her tummy and saying "Baby" and then pointed to Tanner.

Not a Little Girl Any More

My little Aine is not so much a little Aine anymore. She is filling some big boots as a new big sister already.

Of course, just as everyone says, the minute I saw Aine after getting home from the hospital I couldn't believe how big she was. Her hands, her face, her eyes, they all seemed larger than I remembered.

Seeing Tanner in the hospital, he looked just like Aine did when she was a new born and I guess I couldn't get that image out of my mind. Now that I'm home with her I see that she is not a baby anymore, but a little girl. She can tell you what's on her mind and do a lot of things on her own.

My heart breaks when I think about the times with Aine that I will never get back. But I am so grateful for all the future special moments that we will share. I love you, Aine and I will love you forever!

Tanner is Here!

We welcome to the world Tanner Spencer Clark. He was born last night at 8:17 p.m. weighing at 6 lbs 12 1/2 oz. He is 20 inches long. We are so excited to have him here. He was originally due to come on the 24th of October. But during my doctor's appointment yesterday we talked about what I had been going through this past week and my doctor said I had been in the early stages of labor. To avoid going into labor on the freeway she decided to have me induced last night. It all went pretty fast, we arrived in the labor and delivery room around 5:30 and just shy of 3 hours later he was here. I can't wait for Aine to meet her baby brother! :)

After Aine saw Mommy and Daddy kissing. She decided to give kisses too. She ran back and forth between Mom and Dad. Mom was on the bed doing her work and Dad was in the the living room. Aine then decided to give kisses to herself in the mirror. Aine your a cutie.

Hold On Tanner!!!

Be forewarned, this is a post in which I get to blow off all my thoughts about a hard day because I don't have anyone to talk to about it right now. So, I apologize for the length and the detail if you proceed.

I have just finished an exasperating week of tracking contractions to find out that they are coming about every 10 minutes (if not sooner) when I am up and moving around... or every 30 minutes if I am laying down. This has been very frustrating because I'm not the kind of person, nor do I have the life right now, to be laying down.

So, after talking with the nurse at my doctor's office she asked me to come in for some monitoring and tests as soon as possible. This got my heart going a little faster then I would like to admit. With Aine in tow, Spencer and I made the trip to the doctor's office. They set me up to the monitors so they could track little Tanner's heartbeat and my contractions and put me in a nice, cushy, leather recliner. Of course, with this lovely, comfortable chair I was able to take a much needed load off and produce no serious contractions. :) We all knew that was going to happen.

My doctor was out of the office, so then I got to meet with another doctor who was on call. She did some more tests, including checking to see if I was dilated. Good news, I'm not! Whoo! We then talked about how they would prefer me to get as much rest as possible. And when we say rest we mean at least sitting with my feet up. The doctor asked about what I do at work and I explained my situation. She came to the conclusion that she would prefer I be resting more, but if I had to be at work then I would need to follow some guidelines. Things like, consolidating my trips to get up and do things and getting my feet up when I am sitting down.

After this, I went straight back to work, despite the doctor's note that I received informing my boss that I needed to be excused for the day in exchange for bed rest. :) And of course once I was there I had to spill all the beans to my co-workers and to my boss. We then came to the conclusion that I will be working from home in the mornings and then at the office in the afternoons (with my feet up on a box under my desk). I'm really grateful for their willingness to work with me. But I'm not excited that this is all getting started all ready.

While I was getting the tests done they told me that at 35 weeks they won't try to stop any labor. This, for me, will be in about a week and a half and is way too soon! The good news is, they took some kind of chemical test to determine if I might be going into labor. The test came back negative so I have a very, very slim chance of going into labor within the next two weeks. Whoo! I'm safe for two weeks.

After all this huss and fuss I know that this little Tanner is going to hang on for dear life and probably won't come until October 24. Right when he is supposed to. This of course will make me feel quite embarrassed about this whole situation. It's just one of those things I guess. But, I am now exhausted from a long day and dreading the fact that tonight I still have to try and make up an hour of missed work from today's fiasco. Not to mention, tomorrow morning's working from home. Anyways, thanks for reading my book about today and letting me blow off some stuff. :)

On Our Wish List For Tanner

I know this is funny but these are on our wish list for Tanner. He is due on October 24th when BYU is playing TCU. Hopefully, this will be a good thing for Spencer while we are hanging out in labor and delivery. Maybe a good distraction. He didn't do very well with seeing me in pain when I was in labor with Aine. Updated Aine Pictures - She's Truly a Toddler Now

You'll notice that alot of the pictures we take of Aine are when she is sitting in her chair. This isn't really because she is eating all the time, but because this is the only time we can get her to sit still long enough for a picture. :)

We got free "longboard" popsicles with our dinner from Costa Vida and we silly parents decided to let Aine eat her whole popsicle by herself. This picture doesn't quite do it justice because she had already taken and eaten a big bite out of it before we could get this shot. By the time she was done eating it her hands were all red and she was shaking. I don't know if that was from all the sugar or because she was cold. I threw her straight into a nice warm bath and the shakes stopped. But she was running around like crazy after the bath. *Sigh*
Aine loves the phone and she has started to say more understandable words and phrases. Just this week she has transitioned from saying "Hi" to "Hel-l-lo".

Notice the scratches and bruises. Aine is still playing harder than her poor little 18 month old body should have to take. When they told me we are having a baby boy I thought, "You know, having a boy can't be rougher than Aine." But maybe that's just asking for trouble! :) We love you Aine, you are more entertaining than anything else!

God is Good

Spencer has began his internship with Miller Motor Sports Park that will give him some experience in his field. It will also give him the hours he will need to graduate with his associates degree next spring. Today, I received the go ahead to be able to do most of my job from home when I go on maternity leave. So, we may actually financially make it through my leave. We'll see how juggling everything goes. One thing I know for sure is that God's hands were in all of this and I've got to trust that He will help to make everything else okay.

1 to 13?

This morning was very interesting. While Faith was getting ready for work, Aine was standing on the couch reaching for the light switch and I told Aine that was a no-no for standing on the couch and I sat her down. Aine then got off the couch and ran into her room and shut herself in her room. Faith and I both got a laugh out of it. It seems like like Aine is acting like a 13 year old already. Aftewards it took Aine a few minutes to calm down and not be mad at Dad. I can tell that the teenage years are going to be interesting between Dad and daughter.
