Play-Do

We finally had time to pull out the Play-Do that Grandma Clark made for the kids in February! It was messy, but we got creative. We rolled it out and used cookie cutters, cups and canning lids to make fun shapes. We also sculpted cars, houses and little men. Tanner loved pulling little pieces off one at a time and squishing them back together again.

Memorial Day Car Ride

Faith, Aine and I traveled with Vaughn and Tammy Durfee down to Wendover, Nevada. We enjoyed seeing the Salt Flats along the way. Drove downtown Wendover on both the Utah and Nevada border. We had lunch and stopped at a playground afterwards so Aine could get rid of the wiggles. Drove back to Stansberry Park. Sorry we don't have any pictures. We forgot the camera. Those of you who read this might have to use your imagination.

Celebrating 3 Years

Faith and I are celebrating three years this Memorial Weekend. It has been a great experience for the both of us. We have a beautiful baby girl Aine and our expecting another one later on this year. Faith and I started off our celebration Friday night eating at Olive Garden. We then went to Classic Skating afterwards and thanks to Chad and Rachael Henderson got us a deal to skate and play the arcades. Faith and I had fun competing against one another. I beat her in the ski ball, and air hockey competition. She schooled me in the basketball competition. She's a tough player when it comes to playing basketball against her. We then had fun skating around the rink with the music. To end the night we played Dance Revolution and Faith was the better dancer even though we both did not score high. We both had fun time overall and it was great to enjoy each others company.

An Evening at the Durfee's

So, Catherine, Abe and I were bored of watching football... so, we had a little fun with the voice recognization tool on my dad's new Vista computer. By using a microsoft word and a microphone we were able to dictate a "story" to the computer. If you are patient enough to read the story, here is what it came up with (Remember to read it as if it were a story):

Flaming Gorge Trip

This last week June 24th thru the 28th I spent time with my family up in Flaming Gorge. We all had a blast. The water tempature was 58 degrees, 10 degrees cooler . That did not stop most of us from jumping in the water. The first day when we got to the lake it was raining. We got camp set up quickly and kept our stuff dry. Dan and Marci came up late Wednesday night. Mom cooked up some good meals both breakfast and dinner. For lunches we had sandwiches, chips and cookies. It was exciting to see Dan, Chad (brother in law) and Seth get up on one ski and be pulled by the boat all at once. Seth did try to pull off a trick by kicking his ski off and getting on Dan's shoulders. The attempt was almost a success. Later on in the day all us except Mom and my sister Rachael went and did some cliff jumping. Saturday we got up ate breakfast, took camp down and headed home. Thank you family for a fun and memorable week.
Dan and Marci it was fun to have you here in Utah. I hope you both enjoyed your stay the past two and half weeks. Look forward to seeing you both this Christmas.

THE BIG HIKE

This last weekend(June 14th)Dad, Mom, Daniel, Nathan, Seth and I all went down to Kanab. All of us boys went and hiked the good old Paria River. Starting at Wire Pass and hiking all the way down to Lee's Fairy. We woke up Saturday morning ate breakfast and got ready to go. Mom dropped us off at Wire Pass and we started our journey at 5:45 that morning. We all enjoyed ourselves and had a good time. We saw an owl and a dead eagle of some sort in the narrow areas. The one thing we were all surprised about was there was no water pools that we had to walk or swim through. In fact we did not get our feet wet until after the confluence. We reached the eight mile mark at exactly at 8am. We got to the confluence around 9:45am. The first part of that hike seemed go by quick. We had lunch around 12:30 that afternoon. We saw quite a few hikers that we passed by. They asked where we came from and where we were headed and we told them. They were quite amazed that we were doing the hike all in one day. The toughest part of the hike was the last 5 miles and we all wanted to be done. We all finished around 9pm Arizona time and 10pm Utah time. Mom picked us up and took us to the hotel in Page, where we took it easy. Mom brought back drinks and ice cream from the store for us to enjoy. I am proud of Nathan and Seth who were able to go all the way, even though it got rough at times. I was especially happy that my Father was able to do it again. If he wasn't there it would not have been as fun. We are all happy that it is over and done with. The memories will always be there in the back of our heads. I for one will always remember the great bonding time that I had with my Dad as we are hiking through the narrows and the goose necks. Yes this will definitely be our last time doing the full 45 miles and probably the last time we will hike the Paria. Unless any of my kids in the future ever want to try and do something as crazy as this, then I will support them and go all the way with them.

Spencer and Faith's 2nd Anniversary

Faith and I celebrated our second anniversary this last Memorial weekend. Thanks to both Charity and Ginny who were able to watch Aine for us on Friday and Monday. Faith and I had the oppertunity to spend some one and one time together. We rode the new FrontRunner from Salt Lake to Ogden. We ate at California Pizza, which was very tasty. Yesterday (Monday May 26th) we went and saw "Horton hears a Who." It's been a great two years for us. We have both learned and grown a lot from one another. We are both excited in the years to come. We are greatful for our sweet Aine who has been a great blessing in our lives.

Downtown Parks

We went for an evening stroll today and explored two new parks I haven't discovered before. One of the parks, to my surprise was right up the street from where I work and i never realized it was there. So, now counting we have 7 parks and temple square all within short walking distance. Sweet! How I love being downtown. It is perfect for us right now.

This isn't really how I would describe myself... maybe it was just my mood today. (A little rebellious)

In The Park

What a beautiful day to enjoy the sunshine in the park! Is anyone else tired of the unusually long winter we have been having this year? Thank goodness for warm, sunny days with the ones I love!

Just Bought

Isn't it enchanting? I finally used a gift card I got for my birthday to buy this movie. It may be a bit cheesy, but I absolutely adore it. I love all the references to classic Disney movies. I miss the old classic Disney's and this was a wonderful return to their goodness. My favorite scene is the song in the park.

60 Degrees

Can I just say it was a beautiful day today and I couldn't get enough of it? Ginny, Aine and I decided to take advantage of it and go for a walk to Memory Grove. Sorry, didn't take the camera so we don't have any pictures.

Look what we've been driving around. Who would have ever put Spencer and I in a PT Cruiser? Heehee

Baby Prep

The need to get out of the house this weekend led Charity, Morgan, Spencer and I for a walk downtown in the cold. The funnest part was going to the children's section of the Church History Museum. I think Charity was having more fun with the little activities than all of us. She was so cute to watch. She was especially fun to watch as she trotted along the street with Morgan riding piggyback. Where does she get all that energy?

We came back to the apartment for some hot chocolate. Charity and Morgan helped me put together the Child Care Cart they gave me at the baby shower this week. To say the least, it was an adventure to make all the parts fit. Let's just say that you don't want to loose any pegs. :)



Here's the finished product. Poor Spencer had to work this Monday and I was at home alone with the bags of gifts from the baby shower. So, I reorganized and found this cart to be very helpful. Thanks Charity.

The Wheels on the "Hummer" go round and round

Better watch out I have a new drive in town. It's yellow and it's big. The only thing that's missing is me in it. Christmas came a couple of weeks early for me. I won this bad boy in a drawing at work. Look forward to having some fun.
